It's been a busy busy weekend, and I needed all day yesterday to wind down. Which explains why my Happy Homemaker Monday post is happening on a Tuesday. My daughter enjoyed going to a homeschool prom! (Pictures to come for sure!) and my Mom was in town for Prom, so we celebrated her birthday at the beach! It was a wonderful weekend, and I'm so thankful to have that time and those memories with them! It's hard on a Mama heart when your babies start to grow up, but my girl had a blast, and she looked so beautiful!
So I decided this week, while I'm rebuilding my blog from the ground up, that I wanted to start by catching up with some bloggers I followed long ago, and share a view from my corner of the world. So nice to be here this week!!
♥♥ The Weather ♥♥
It's been much cooler than it was the weeks before. This week its been in the low 50s, where last week we were close to 90! Looks like we have warm weather ahead for the weekend (Yay!)
♥♥ As I look outside my window ♥
The 'neighborhood cat' has been at our house more often than not nowadays. She has began to bring us her 'spoils' birds, mice and moles. I think she believes we are her people now lol. She's beautiful though, and I think everyone feeds her. My kids affectionately call her Calypso, she's a calico like our Dixie, but its nice when she comes to visit!
♥♥ Right now I am ♥♥
Writing, thinking, watching my boy ride his hoverboard around the house before starting school lol.
♥♥ Thinking and pondering ♥♥
Life in general. I truly want to get back into blogging and I have so many fun ideas for the blog! I'm hoping to have time after the kids school slows down and I'll have more freetime on my hands!
♥♥ How am I feeling ♥♥
Trying to slow down! I have a tendancy to hit the ground running, and I'm trying to get away from that!
♥♥ On the breakfast plate ♥♥
Atkins shake, as usual!
♥♥ On the lunch plate ♥♥
I watched a video by Joshsua Becker where he was speaking about having the same thing for lunch everyday. I love that idea, so I'm trying to find out what the 'same thing' I will be having will be. I'm thinking a sandwich today. We have a lot of extra Kings Hawaiian sub rollls from buying sandwich things to entertain this weekend, so we need to use those!
♥♥ On the dinner plate ♥♥
I have plenty of hot dog and hamburger buns leftover from this weekend as well! So probably mamwiches!
♥♥ What I'm wearing ♥♥
Black yoga pants and a gray camo print shirt, lol.
♥♥ On my reading pile ♥♥
I picked up "Becoming Free Indeed" by Jinger Duggar Vuolo. I thought it seemed like an interesting read! I've also been working on "Heaven" by Randy Alcorn, and picked up "My Utmost for His Highest" as my devotion again.
♥♥ On my TV this week ♥♥
Oh the TV Question! We watched the first episode of "The Voice" yesterday, I know, we are behind lol. I've been watching season four of Hart of Dixie while walking on the treadmill, and we just finished the Mandalorian last week, so hoping to begin the Book of Boba Fett as a family this week!
♥♥ On the menu ♥♥
I'm awful at meal planning in general, so I'm hoping to get better at it! As I said, I have a lot of buns left over because I planned to be home more with company this weekend but we ended up eating out, so probably hot dogs tomorrow, and that's as far ahead as I have planned!
♥♥ Looking around the house ♥♥
Rosie (My roomba) is picking up any stray pieces of things that were on the floor from last night. I need to get up and start cleaning for sure! It's not terrible, just a lot of laundry to put away since we were out of town a couple of days this weekend.
♥♥ To Do List ♥♥
-Laundry
-Work on the ordering list for VBS that I was given
-School with the kiddos, catching Sawyer up on language arts!
-go buy catfood
-plan meals past tomorrow
♥♥ From the camera ♥♥
Here's the moment you've been waiting for! The Prom photo dump!

Getting ready with my Mom and aunt...
My girl and her bff Darci! These girls have been besties since they were 7 and 9! I'm so glad
they got to experience this together!
Didn't she look gorgeous!?
I don't know how my little girl grew up so fast, but she's so beautiful, inside and out...
The day after, we enjoyed spending my Moms birthday at Nags head! But I didn't take any
pictures of my Mom... lol. I did get some of the girls though!
If you look close, you can see their little crab they caught lol..
It was a great weekend, I'm so thankful we got to share that together!
♥♥ Devotional ♥♥
1 Thessalonians 4:11: that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, (12) that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing. (13) But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. (14) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
Beautiful photos. It's scary how fast kids grow up. My daughter graduates this year but also started college last fall. This was the first year I haven't been homeschooling in 18 years. It's weird beeing retired. Hope you have a great week!
